1: Application

Accepted Answer

Admission into Austin Heights Schools is by assessment and interview.
Submit an Admission Form together with the following documents to the Admission Department at the Registration Office:-
 
Malaysian Applicant
Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs (Student) (with light blue background)
A copy of student’s birth certificate
A copy of student’s MyKid / MyKad
One (1) recent passport-sized photograph (Both Parents’)
A copy of parents’ passports or ICs
A copy of previous school report
A copy of school leaving certificate
Student’s medical certificates / immunization record
 
International Applicant
Eight (8) recent passport-sized photographs (Student) (with light blue background)
A copy of student’s birth certificate / Family Certificate (English Version) / Notarial Certificate
A copy of student’s passport / Notarial Certificate
Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs (Both Parents’) (with light blue background)
A copy of parents’ passports or ICs / Notarial Certificate
Parent’s marriage certificate (English Version) / Notarial Certificate
A copy of parents’ visas (if relevant)
A copy of parent’s work permits (if relevant)
A copy of parent’s confirmation of employment letter
A copy of previous school report & A copy of school leaving certificate

2: Entrance Assessment

Accepted Answer

Once the completed Admission Form with the required documents is submitted and the application fee of RM100 / RM200 (for Year 10) has been paid, the applicant will be scheduled for an entrance assessment.
 
The assessment will be in the form of a written test comprising English Language and Mathematics that will last one (1) hour for Primary / two (2) hour for Secondary. The purpose of the entrance assessment is to evaluate the capability of the applicant in both subjects, in particular, the competency of English Language so that the applicant can access the full curriculum which will be conducted in English.
 
All children will be assessed in their appropriate year group as follows:-
 
Early Years and Reception Years
Written assessment is not required for early years and reception years
 
Years 1 – 10
Written assessment is required for years 1 – 10.
 
While completing the Admission Form, applicant may request to sit for the entrance assessment provided the RM200 application fee has been paid.

Question 3

3: Interview Sessions

Accepted Answer

After the entrance assessment, there will be an interview session with the Principal and/or a designated member of staff. This will allow the interviewer to assess the proficiency level of English Language and to observe the behaviour of the applicant. The interview also allows the parents to understand the manner in which Austin Heights School operates.

Accepted Answer

Where places are available, admission of students into Austin Heights International School is dependent on a satisfactory entrance assessment result and outcome of the interview. A confirmation of admission to the school is also based on the belief that the student will benefit from the curriculum offered.
